Otho Pearre FAIRFIELD was born on 18 September 1837 in Amelia, Clermont, Ohio.⁹⁹¹ He died on 8 November 1864 at the age of 27 in Columbia, Richland, South Carolina.⁹⁹¹ Otho Pearre enlisted Aug. 11, 1862 and April 11, 1863 he took command as a 1st Lieut., Co. B, 89th Ohio Volunteers in the Civil War. He was captured Sept. 20, 1863 at Chickamauga, Indiana. He spent 1 year in Libby Prison, Sept. 1863 to October 1864, and was then moved to Columbia, South Carolina before his death. He is buried in Clermont Co., Ohio.
