Buried in Davenport Cemetery located off V. T.
Crawley Road-11 miles west of Morganfield, KY
Adrian had military service during the American Revolution for the State
of Virginia as a Private. Information on him is contained in the Daughters
of the American Revolution Index and Files. He was pensioned for this
service
DAR Patriot Index Volume 28, page 311 shows:
Adrian, Date of Birth 1758 in Virginia-removed to Fayette County
Kentucky by 1818 when pensioned.

Adrian also appears in Census records of Union County, Kentucky for 1820
and 1830.
The Davenport Family Cemetery located on the Kate R. Mason farm, located
off V.T. Crawley Road, 11 miles West of Morganfield, Kentucky, contains
the following burials for the Ashby family-it is unknown if these
individuals are related to Ann Ashby, however, burial in this particular
cemetery seems to indicate some relationship:

He was also one of the founders of Rockingham, Iowa along with his

HIGGINS of Livingston County, son of the aforesaid deceased and ISAAC HIGGINS of the County of Henderson, son of WILLIAM HIGGINS of Mercer County, all of the State of Kentucky, for divers good causes and considerations as hereunto moveing have nominated and appointed and by these presents do nominate, constitute and appoint JOHN HIGGINS of Campbell County and state aforesaid, son of the aforesaid WILLIAM HIGGINS, our true and lawful attorney for us and in our names and stead and for our use and benefit to demand and receive, sue for and recover from the Executor of PETER HIGGINS, formerly of Shanandoah County in the State of Virginia, deceased, the legacy left by the said PETER HIGGINS by his will to the sd KITTY DAVENPORT & HENRY W. The following was taken from "History of Union County, Kentucky":
Thomas attended the common schools until 1869 or 1870
After leaving school he farmed for 5 years and then entered, as a
clerk, the store his father and brother owned.
A year later he went to Texas on a prospecting tour. Upon his
return home he entered the saddle and harness business with Mr. George
Jackson.
In 1878 the partnership dissolved and for three years he went into
the grocery business and then back to farming and trading stock for a year.
He then purchased a flourishing grocery business and remained in
this trade.
At one point he was the Director of the County Fair Co.

Moved to Scott County, Iowa in 1832.
Adrian H. was appointed Sheriff of Scott County in 1838. He held
this position until 1839 when it became an elected position. He was then
re-elected and held this post until 1846 when he could serve no longer.
He and his family moved from Rockingham to LeClaire in 1847.

Alexander Davenport household is listed as living in the Tavern
with two children. It shows his occupation as a farmer:

-James age 14
Obviously some catastrophe occurred between 1840-1850 in which
the other 7 family members died or possibly some of the older
ones were married. They disappear from the census records and Alexander
moves into the tavern with his two remaining children. Nothing has
been found of the other family members.
However, according to Dorothy Reherman Jarboe (granddaughter of
James, America Davenport went by the name of Anna America and
married a man by the last name of Black.
