There are literally thousands of web sites on the Internet that provide information about specific family trees of Norwegian ancestors. Unfortunately I do not have the time to catalog these and to create links to all of them. You can find them fairly easily by using www.google.com.

     The most important web sites for Norwegian genealogy research, however, are the FamilySearch web site (the LDS Family History Web Site) and those that are sponsored by the Norwegian government, such as the Digitalarkivet at the University of Bergen. My web site provides links to these major web sites as well as articles that dicuss how to use the online databases that you find at these web sites. However, Ancestors from Norway is not the only Internet portal to Norwegian genealogy research. You should also visit and bookmark the following web sites:

Christian F. Scheel's Genealogy Pages includes a catalog of Norwegian family history books, bygdebooks, and more.

Slektsbiblioteket - an archive of resources owned by Norwegian internet users who are willing to look up genealogical information and e-mail or snail mail it to others who request it.
