He was married before 1849 in Finstadoveen, Norway to Oliane LARSEN "LARSDOTTER" daughter of Lars NORBRYN, born about 1824 in Norway. They lived in Omot Gloustad, Norway. When their children were grown, their son, Lars came back to Norway to get them and the rest of the family, to come to America. On 25 April 1873, Peder & Oliane came to America on the "Atlas". They settled in Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts with their sons. They were members of the Evangelical Free Church, a Norwegian Church. They died _____? and are buried in the old part of the cemetery on "Lars Petersen" lot at the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Issue: Petersen a. PEDERSEN, Inger2, born 1849, Norway b. PEDERSEN, Lars2, born 3 October 1851, Norway c. PEDERSEN, Hans Peter2, born 4 March 1854 Norway d. PEDERSEN, Anna Karina2, born 6 November, Norway e. PEDERSEN, Rudolph2, born 1865, Norway Lars Norbryn and Bester Niodre - their great grandfather and great grandmother owned a mill for grinding grain. The also owned a mill for sawing lumber. It was a very properous large farm left to Bester Niodre, but Lars Norbryn took to drinking and when Great Grandmother died he lost everything. Oliane, mother of Lars & Rudolph went to live with her Aunt Marie, who had married Knut Annesore (her father's sister) and lived with them until 13 years old. Then she was on her own. She was a very reserved, almost haughty person. Oliana married Peder Hansen of Omot, Glomstad. Peder was the oldest son and should have inhereted the place but he was a quiet person and his younger brother, Hans Glomstadt, got it from him. Peder & Oliana got a small farm called Upper Nabset. When Lars was 9 yrs old they sold the place and bought Findstadsveere in Loiton. Finstadsasen bought from a large farm called Stor & Lille. Finstad (large 1 little) The building from Lille Finstad. Peder & Oliana Hansen sold their place to a relation and came to America. Bester (Nioder) Nasbryn was Aunt to Frii Plato of Hamar. (Lornetenies spelled Plateau) a high Society lady. Daren Plato comes to America often, relatives in Buffalo. She was in the Storthing, same as our Congress. A Plato has a good jewelry store in Hamar now in 1966, he didn't want to recognize Lars Pedersen. OLIANE LARSEN'S FAMILY Lars NORBRYN, of Romedal, Norway, m: Bester NOIDRE (Bester was Heir to a large farm but Lars lost it thru drinking. Maria, a sister (a very fine lady who married Knute Anneson) Issue: 1. LARSEN, LARS, dealt in hides for some firm in Christiana (now Oslo) married and had at least one daughter. 2. They were all born in Tananger, outside Stavanger, Norway. I'm looking for any descendants from these. The only one I know a bit about is Gudmund. He sailed the Redwood coast under the name Gudmund "Midnight" Olsen. He was a very famous captain there, and retired to a resort he bought, Seiglers Springs. Biri, on the shores of Lake Mjosa, is the site of the farm my grandfather left in 1876. Family names now include: ODEGAARDEN, GRANBERG; PETTERSEN, MOE. Since retirement from the U.S. Foreign Service, I have concentrated on writing. My current book -- "From the Hidewood: Memories of a Dakota Neighborhood," published by the Minn. He was the last of 6 children. One sister, Bergliot APELAND SALVESEN, b. April 5, 1905, in Stavanger, lives in Seattle, WA. Another sister, Agnes APELAND OLSON, died in Stavanger in the 1960's. Two brothers and another sister died in their late teens or early 20's, I believe from TB. My father Peter (no middle name) APELAND was lost at sea on August 29, 1949, near Nantucket, MA. He lived with relatives in Skudesnes and Kopervik after his mother died when he was approximately 10. He worked at Lundberg's Bakery, and eventually went to sea at age 18, working as a cook. He came to the U.S. in approximately 1928, joined the private Merchant Marines, and eventually ended up in South Florida with one of the yachts on which he worked in the late 1930's. This information came from the Evje, Aust Adger, Norway church records. They had 7 children, Siri, Hans, Gunder, Knud, Even, Tellef, and Marthe. Tellef is our ancester. Tellef Eilifson married Guru Johnsdatter. 10 Children were born, all at the Avitsland Farm, near Evje, Norway. Our anscester, Ole, was one of the 4 who came to America.
