Norwegian genealogy resources - county specific:

Oslo and Akershus
   Oslo - formerly called "Christiania" - is the capital of Norway.
   Akershus - formerly called "Agershus" - includes Ski, Ås, Nesodden, Bærum, Asker. 
 Vest Agder
   Vest-Agder was formerly called "Lister og Mandal." It includes such places as Flekkefjord, Kristiansand, Kvinesdal, Lyngdal, and Mandal.
Østfold
   Østfold - formerly called "Smaalehnene" - includes Askim, Fredrikstad, Halden, Moss, Sarpsborg, Spydeberg.
 Rogaland
   Formerly called "Stavanger amt"  - includes Egersund, Jæren, Haugesund, Ryfylke, Sandnes, Stavanger.
Hedmark
   Formerly called "Hedemarken", includes Østerdalen, Elverum, Finnskogen, Hamar, Kongsvinger, Solør, Tynset, Mjøsa lake
 Hordaland
   Formerly called "Søndre Bergenhus", includes Hardangerfjorden, Bergen, Stord, Tysnes, and Voss.
Oppland
   Formerly called "Christians amt", includes Gudbrandsdalen, Jotunheimen, Randsfjorden, Aurdal, Dombås, Dovre, Fagernes, Gjøvik, Hadeland, Lesja, Lillehammer, Lom, Raufoss, Ringebu, and Valdres.
 Sogn og Fjordane
   Formerly called "Nordre Bergenhus", includes Førdefjorden, Lustrafjorden, Sognefjorden, Sunnfjord, Nordfjord, Jostedalen, Aurland, Balestrand, Bremanger, Florø, Førde, Stryn, Vågsøy, and Årdal.
Buskerud
   Buskerud has not changed its name. It includes Hallingdalen, Hemsedalen, Numedalen, Ustedalen, Uvdalen, Tyrifjorden, Ringerike, Drammen, Hønefoss, Geilo, Gol, Kongsberg.
 Møre og Romsdal
   Formerly called "Romsdal", includes Geirangerfjorden, Langfjorden, Storfjorden, Sunndalsfjorden, Romsdalen, Sunndalen, Surnadalen, Kristiansund, Molde, Nord-Møre, Volda, Ålesund, Åndalsnes.
Vestfold
   Formerly called "Jarlsberg og Laurvig", includes Sandefjord, Holmestrand, Lardal, Larvik, Nøtterøy, Tjøme, and Tønsberg.
.Sør Trøndelag
   Formerly called "Sondre Trondhjem", includes Drivdalen, Gauldalen, Orkladalen, Oppdal, Røros, Støren, Trondheim.
Telemark
   Formerly called "Bratsberg", includes: Drangedal, Fyresdal, Mandal, Nissedal, Setesdal, Flekkefjord, Bamble, Bø, Grenland, Risør, Kragerø, Kristiansand, Notodden, Porsgrunn, Skien, and Tinn.
 Nord Trøndelag
   Formerly called "Nordre Trondhjem", includes Stjørdalen, Inndalen, Steinkjær, Namsos, Levanger
Aust Agder
   Aust-Ager was formerly called "Nedenæs amt".  It includes such places as Arendal, Grimstad, Lillesand, Risør, and Tvedestrand, as well as the Setesdal Valley.
Nordland, Troms and Finnmark
   Nordland - formerly known as "Helgeland" - includes Bodø, Brønnøy, Leirfjord, Lofoten, Narvik, Rana, Tysfjord, and Verøy. 
   Troms has not changed its name. It includes Harstad, Tromsø, Lavangen, Sørreisa, Balsfjord, Storfjord, and Vesterålen. 
   Finnmark has also not changed its name. It includes Alta, Hammerfest, Porsanger, Sørøya, and Vardø.
