Mrs. Edith Earl Noble, a life-long resident of Lockport, died this morning (Wednseday, Oct. 22, 1980) at the Seneca Nursing Home, West Seneca N.Y. She was the widow of Raymond M. Noble who died in 1972. Mrs. Noble was born in Lockport in 1887 and was a lifelong member of Grace Episcopal Church. She was the daughter of John R. and Lydia G. Earl. Her father was Mayor of Lockport in 1915-1917. Mrs. Noble is survived by her daughter, Mrs Harry C. (Edith) Ernest and four grandchildren, John R. Ernest, Peter N. Ernest, Mrs. Larry (Wende) Weseman and Miss Susan E. Ernest. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Harold P. Smith and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Glenwood Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by the Joseph M. Kennedy Funeral Home Inc. There will be no prior visitation, but contributions to the Grace Church Altar Guild would be appreciated by the family.Jane Aurelia Earl

Mrs. Jane Lawton
Mrs. Jane Earl Lawton, aged 86 years, widow of Chancey B. Lawton, died early the morning of Jan. 10, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.C. Williams, in Baily street, Adams Center.
Jane Aurelia Earl Lawton was born in the town of Rutland, Sept. 21, 1838. She was the the second in the family of six daughters and one son of Wheaton and Alsena Andrus Earl. Her grandparents were pioneer settlers of the town of Rutland, coming there from the vicinity of Utica in the year 1800. Her grandfather, Danford Earl, served in the war of 1812, and he was one of the founders of the Middle Road Congregational church of Rutland. She attended the distict school and select school at Carthage. Jan. 1, 1856, she was married to Chauncey B. Lawton, a native of Jefferson county who for a few years before their marriage had been engaged in farming in Darlington, Wisconsin, at a double wedding at which her older sister, Helen was also married.
For a few years after their marriage they lived in Champion and then they purchased the Woolworth farm in the town of Rodman on which they lived until 1887 when they went to Rodman village. She was a member of the M.E. church of Rodman.
Mr. Lawton passed away in 1901 and she kept her home there spending her winters with her daughter until four years ago when she came to make her home with her daughter. For the last three and one-half years she has been an invalid as the result of a fractured limb and her health has steadily failed.
She is survived by two sons, Chas. W. Lawton of Rodman and Arthur O. Lawton of Watertown; one daughter, Mrs. Matie E. Williams of Adams Center; a sister, Mrs Emma C. Smith of Watertown, and two granddaughters, Mrs. Ray L. Eveleigh and Mrs. John C. Dodge, of Watertown.
Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter Monday Jan. 12, at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Loyal F. Hurley, pastor of the Seventh Day Baptist church, officiating. Burial was at Rodman.Alice Emmott

Albion-Mrs. Alice E. Stirk, 69, of 349 West State St., died Sunday (May 14, 1967) in Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital after a long illness
Mrs. Stirk was born in England, and was a member of Albion Prebyterian Church, She was the widow of Andrew J. Stirk.
Surviving are two sons John of Albion and Robert of Holley, and a brother, Thomas Emmott of Medina. Freinds may call at the Scherett and Mitchel Funeral Home where services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Howard D. eveleigh, retired rural mail carrier died suddenly Saturday afternoon at his home in Adams Center. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Funeral service was held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Eveleigh residence, with Rev. Gilbert V. Hemsley, pastor of Emmanuel church, Adams, officiating. Burial was in Elmwood cemetery, Adams. Members of Adams Rising Sun Lodge, F.&A.M., held Masonic services at the grave.
Surviving are two sons, Ray Eveleigh, 120 South Pearl avenue, Watertown, and Stanton Eveleigh, Albany; four granddaughters, Mrs. William (Jean) Luderman, 607 Bronson street, Watertown, and the misses Joan, Kay and Gail Eveleigh, all of 120 Pearl street, Watertown; and two brothers, Olin D. Eveleigh, Schenectady, and Westell W. Eveleigh, Watertown, R. D. 1.
Born in the town of Hounsfield 81 years ago, son of Thomas and Mary Eveleigh, he married the former Miss Charlotte Landon of Adams. Mrs Eveleigh died June, 1938.
Mr. Eveleigh was a member of Adams Rising Sun Lodge, F.&A.M.; Watertown Commandery; Watertown Media temple and the Arab Patrol.
He attended schools in the Sulpher Springa area, and after his marriage, purchased a farm in the vicinity of Adams Center, which he operated for approximately 20 years. He had been a rural mail carrier for nearly 30 years, conducting route two from Adams Center.Ray Landon Eveleigh

R. Eveleigh Dies at 72
Ray L. Eveleigh, 72, of 120 Pearl Ave., a retired truck driver for Amour and Co., was pronounced dead at his home at 10:10 a.m. Sunday by Dr. Chris G. Ronson.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Cleveland-Spink Funeral Home with Rev. Harlow T. Doliber. supervisor, Black River Valley District, United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Adams.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 this evening and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lois L. Eveleigh; four daughters, Mrs. William (Jean) Lunderman, 314 William St.; Mrs. Stanley (Joan) Waters, Lyons, N.Y.; Mrs. David (Kay) Phillips, 1027 State St,; and Mrs. Robert (Gail) Barnes, Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Stanton Eveleigh, Slingerlands, N.Y.; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Born Nov. 17, 1899, in the town of Adams, the son of Howard and Charlotte Landon Eveleigh, he attended Adams schools and Watertown business school. On Aug 16, 1922, he married Miss Lois M. Lawton, at Rodman Methodist Church, Rev. Edward J. Lavis, officiating.
The couple moved to watertown following their marriage. Employed 41 years as a truck driver for Arour and Co., Watertown, he retired in 1964.
