Enlisted December 29, 1863; company K, 8th N Y Heavy Artillery; transfered June 5, 1865 to company L, 4th N Y Heavy Artillery Rank:Private. Discharged September 26, 1865. George died June 14, 1920 in Albion, Orleans County, New York, at 79 years of age. His body was interred June 17, 1920 in Albion, Orleans County, New York, Mt. Albion Cemetery. He married Sarah Sears i D O H in Albion, Orleans County, New York, November 10, 1858. Sarah was born in Albion, Orleans County, New York January 27, 1842. Sarah died August 30, 1924 in Albion, Orleans County, New York, at 82 years of age. Her body was interred September 02, 1924 in Albion, Orleans County, New York, Mt. Albion Cemetery.
