W. Cord Nickens was son of William and
Francis Nickens. He was probably born in Wilson County, Tennessee. After
marrying Manerva Murry in
Wilson County he moved to Davidson County. Cord and his family were enumerated
in District 2 of Davidson County from 1840 to 1870. Cord died sometime before 1880.
His family was still in District 2 in 1880, but then moved to Nashville where
several of the family worked in the cotton mills.
