(There are several Colin Campbells, and I am recording them all, even though there is not a lot of data on some of them, nor may what I have found be placed with the correct one, nor the data be combined as it is for some of these men. See the Misc. Data ant end of this section.)

    Colin C. Campbell, of Burlington, New Jersey; d. ? Maugerville, Sunbury Co, NB (d. pre 19 Aug 1796, of Saint John, NB, when his estate was advertised); s/o Rev. Colin Campbell, who was the predecessor of Jonathan Odell at St. Marys Church; m. Abigail Seabury; who d. 1804, New York / pre 26 Nov 1804, Saint John Globe; d/o Rev. Samuel Seabury (Bishop)
    Colin Campbell, Esq. late of this city (St John) Barrister-at-Law. He had been Clerk of the Court in Saint John, NB. He was an Attorney-at-Law from May 1773, and a Master in Chancery from 1774, at Burlington, NJ where his father, Rev. Col. Campbell was predecessor of the Rev. Jonathan ODell at St. Marys Church.
    In Dec 1778, he joined the British Troops - - - was arrested - - - (etc) Fled to Philadelphia, when it fell, went with the British Troops to New York. Practice Law there and was Secretary to the Commissioners for settling debts.

Graves: Colin Campbell, a Loyalist officer, who served in the DeLancey's 2nd Batt. as a Quarter-Master, and attained the rank of Captain; He came to St. Andrews in 1784, and was one of the original grantees of that place (12 Aug 1784). His family at that time was apparently residing in Scotland.

Colin was first elected to the House of Assembly as a member for Charlotte Co, at the bye-election held in 1791 to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of the sitting member, Hon. William Paine, who had moved to the US. He took his seat in the house on 18 Feb 1791, and sat the remaining two sessions of that Legislature. He did not re-offer for election.

Another one, Colin Campbell, b. 30 Jul 1752, Inverary, Scotland; d. 26 Jul 1834, Sissiboo (sic), Annapolis Co., NS (now Digby) aged 83 yrs. He m. 1) [--?--]; m.2) Letitia [---], d. 26 May 1832, aged 74 yrs, Cornwallis, NS. He was elected to represent Charlotte County, at a bye-election in 1791, when Dr. Wm. Paine removed to the US. Sat from 18 Feb to dissolution in 1793. He did not re-offer.
He came to St Andrews in 1783, at the close of the Rev. War. Was appointed a JP, and a Justice of the Inferior Court of Common Pleas for Charlotte Couty. He was also Collector of Customs for the Port of St Andrews and President of the local Bank.

He was a member of the Breadabane branch of the Campbell Clann. He emigrated to NY before the was, and became a Loyalist. At his death he was described as Colin Campbell, who came from NY and was for a time Collector of Customs at St Andrews, and came to Shelbourne forty years ago. (ca. 1794)

On 9 Aug 1816, Colin was sworn in as Acting Collector of Customs at Shelbourne.
A Colin Campbell represented Shelbourne in the Nova Scotia Assembly from 1793-1818. The Hon. Colin Campbell (7 Aug 1822-25 Jun 1881, was MLA for Digby 1859-1867 & 1874-1878, deceased.)

      Susannah was described as the widow* of the late Colin Campbell, Esq. of H.M. Customs, of Saint John at her death. (* this one d. 1804, pre this Colin ??)

They had 11 children, all b. in St Andrews.

Graves: Collin Campbell was elected at the GE of Nov 1909, to represent Charlotte County in the Provinvial Legislature, He was granted leave Jan 1813, as capt. of Militia, and again present in 1814. He was again elected Oct 1816, and Oct 1819; but defeated in June 1820; and re-elected June 1837. He was appointed Sheriff of Charlotte Co (in place of Elisha Andrews, deceased, 26 May 1833) and retained that position until 1841, when he was succeeded by Thomas Jones, Esq. on 3 March. He was also a Justice of the Peace, and a Justice of the Inferior Court of Common Pleas
for Charlotte County.

    James Campbell, b. Scotland; d. 8 Dec 1802; fell from the roof of his mill; bur. Beaver Harbour, Charlotte Co, NB; he m. 12 Jun 1779, Amy Gardiner; b. of Newport, RI; d. 28 Feb 1817; bur. Old Church of England Cemetery, St. Andrews.
    James served in the Rev. War in the 54th Foot Guards. His commission as Lieut bore the signature of King George III. At the close of the War, he came with his wife to NB and settled at St George, Charlotte Co. where he operated a mill, and became a man of influence in the community.
    At the first GE of Nov 1785, for the House of Assembly of NB he was elected a member for Charlotte Co, with Dr. William Paine, Robert Pagan & Peter Clinch. He sat until dissolution in 1792. He did not sit the next Parliament, but was again elected as a member at the GE of 1795. Sat until the dissolution. He was defeated at the GE of Oct 1802 and was accidently killed a few weeks later.

First elected to the House of Assembly of NB, at the GE of Oct 1819, as a member for Charlotte County. He sat the single session of that Legislature, which dissolved in 1820, due to the death of King George III. Re-elected at the GE of June 1820. Sat until dissolution in 1827, when he retired.

Dubeau: He served as a Sergt. in the 74th Regt. during the Rev. War, and was a merchant.

    From Worcester, MA, to Halifax with the British troops 1776. In 1783 petitioned for land in NS. In 1786 removed to Saint John He was made a Freeman of Saint John in 1795, admitted as an Esquire. Became 2 Mayor of Saint John in 1801, was its postmaster for twenty-one years and was a prominent Free Mason of that city.
