NEWCASTLE QUAKER RECORDS.

      The following is a list of persons of Cumberland origins whose names
   appear in the records of the monthly meetings of the Society of Friends
   in Newcastle.

      People  going  from  Cumberland or Westmorland to Newcastle  did  by
   certificate though one or two went after marriage.  The names Pardshaw,
   Carlisle  & Lancaster refer to the Quaker Meeting Houses and not to the
   town or village of that name.

      The  date in the first columns is the date that the person became  a
   member of the Newcastle Montly Meeting not a birthdate.

      Women  described  as  "Married from....."   are listed  under  their
   married names.

      These  names  have  been extracted from the Register of  members  of
   Newcastle Monthly Meeting 1714-1836 which is on micro-fiche at Tyne and
   Wear Record Office, Newcastle upon Tyne, Co Durham.  UK.
