| GRAHAM — Francis Eugene "Gene" Jones, 74,
of 407-B N. Main St., died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at Alamance
Regional Medical Center. A native of Cumberland County, he was the husband of the late Sally Beckwith Jones, and the son of the late Glenn Jones and Annie Lou Wilson Jones McBane Cheek. He was a retired auto mechanic and was a member of Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include daughters, Dena Bland and husband, John, of Durham and Kelly Jones Nicholson and husband, Tim, of Madison, N.C.; sons, Gary Neal Jones and wife, Ann, and Jamie Lane Jones and wife, Sheena, all of Burlington; 12 grandchildren; a sister, Alice Dudzinski of Hatfield, Pa.; and a brother, Phillip Ray Jones and wife, Thelma, of Okeechobee, Fla. He was preceded in death by sisters, Ellen Ruth Jones Small and Evelyn Jones Campbell; and a half sister, Judy Angela McBane Andrews. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. John Chick, pastor. Burial will be in Spring Friends Meeting Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 this evening, February 14, 2006 and at other times they will be at the residence.
