On this 17 day of June A. D. 1901,
personally appeared before me,
W.A. Stuart N.P. , C. S. C., in
and for the State and County aforesaid,
Winniford Tart
, age 67 ,years,
and a resident at
Dunn post-office in said County and State, and who being duly
sworn,
makes the following declaration in order to obtain the pension under the provisions of an
act entitled "An Act to amend
Chapter 198 of the Laws of 1889, for the relief of certain Confederate Soldiers and
Widows," ratified March 2, 1901; that she is the widow of the late
Westbrook Tart
who enlisted in Co. "B" , 10th Reg. N. C. State
Troops, on or about the. day of
, 186 , to serve in the armies of the late Confederate States.
She further states that she was married to said Soldier or Sailor before the first day of
April, 1865, and she has never re-married;
that she is, and has been for twelve months immediately preceding this Application for
Pension, a bona fide resident of North
Carolina; that she holds no office under the United States, or under any State or county,
from which she is receiving the sum of
three hundred dollars as fees or as salary annually; that she is not worth in her own
right, or the right of her late husband;
property at its assessed value for taxation to the amount of five hundred dollars ($500).
Nor has she disposed of property of such
value by gift or voluntary conveyance since the 11th of March, 1885.
That She is now old and unable to earn a
Support for herself.

the proofs filed in support thereof; that we are satisfied that the
said Winneford Tart
is the widow of the
late Westbrook
Tart who
enlisted in Company B ,

Regiment of North Carolina State Troops, on or about the
day of

We certify the following allegations set forth in her application to be true, namely: That
she has never re-married; that she is, and has been for twelve months immediately
preceding this Application for Pension, a bona fide resident of North Carolina;
that she holds no office under the United States, or under any State or County, from which
she is receiving the sum of three hundred dollars as fees or as salary annually; that she
is not worth in her own right, or the right of her late husband; property
at its assessed value for taxation to the amount of five hundred dollars ($500). Nor has
