     On this    20   day of    July  A. D. 19 08 , personally appeared before me,
   W. S. Stevens               , C. S. C., in and for the State and County aforesaid,
          Jane Tart                               , age    67   ,years, and a resident at
  Benson Rtd #2, post-office in said County and State, and who being duly sworn,
makes the following declaration in order to obtain the pension under the provisions of an act entitled
"An Act to amend Chapter 332 of the Laws of 1901, for the relief of certain Confererate Soldiers, Sailors
and Widows,"  ratified March 21, 1903; that she is  the widow of the late               Nathan  Tart           
                           
who enlisted in Co.           E             ,         24            Reg. N. C. State Troops,
on or about the. day of         24       day of          May            , 186 3 , to serve in the armies
of the late Confederate States.  She further states that she was married to said Soldier or Sailor before
the first day of April, 1865, and that she is now a widow, and has been for twelve months immediately
preceding this Application for Pension, a bona fide resident of North Carolina;   that she holds no
office under the United States, or under any State or county, from which she is receiving the sum of
three hundred dollars as fees or as salary annually; that she is not worth in her own right, or the right
of her late husband;  property at its assessed value for taxation to the amount of five hundred dollars
($500),  nor has she disposed of property of such value by gift or voluntary conveyance since the 11th
of March, 1885.
         The applicant has no property, and has                                                                             
          to live with her children and she is                                                                                   
         not able to do but little labor                                                                                               
        Her husband died during the war                                                                                      
         in the woods

resides at         Dunn, Rt. D                                     post-office, and N.G. Rog?????
who resides at         Benson RT D2               post-office,  in said County and State, whom I know to
be respectable and entitled to credit, and being by me duly sworn, say      that  they are        
acquainted with           Jane Tart                                                            , the widow of the late
         Nathan  Tart                                       , of Co.              E           ,                  24                      
Regiment, North Carolina State Troops, and that they believe her to be the identical person she
represents herself to be, and that the facts set forth in her affidavit are correct, to the best of their
knowledge and belief, and that he has no interest, direct or indirect, in this claim.

To the Auditor of the State of North Carolina:

     We certify that we have carefully examined the application of                                               
the widow of the late                                                            , who  enlisted in Company             ,
               Regiment, North Carolina State Troops, for a pension under the provisions of an act
entitled "An Act to amend chapter 332 of the Laws of 1901, for the relief of certain Confederate
Soldiers and Widows," ratified March 2,1903, and the proofs filed in support thereof; that we are
satisfied that the said                                                                     is a widow of the late 
                                                                                who enlisted in Company                           
_________ Regiment North Carolina State Troops, on or about the              day of                        
186   .  We certify the following allegations set forth in her application to be true, namely: That
she is now a widow;  that she is, and has been for twelve months immediately preceding this Appli-
cation for Pension, a bona fide resident of North Carolina; that she holds no office under the United
States, or under any State or County, from which she is receiving the sum of three hundred dollars
as fees or as salary annually; that she is not worth in her own right, or the right of her late husband,
property at its assessed value for taxation to the amount of five hundred dollars ($500), nor has she
disposed of property of such value by gift or voluntary conveyance since the 11th of March, 1885,
