"Saturday, May 9, Col. Arthur Buchan wrote from 'Old town, Juniata"(Lewistown) to George Stewart (Tuscarora): I this moment recd. by Robert Moor (Moore) Express, a Letter from Capn. Bell, stationed at Bauld Eagle Which informs me that Simon Baught (Waugh), one of his company was killed on the 8th. Instant, at the house of Jones (Jonas) Davis, upon Bald Eagle Creek'.

This is during the war, but it seems to intimate that Simon was killed by Indians, as the article continues with report of a family killed by Indians.
