In 1890, the Diocese of Charlottetown conducted a census of Roman Catholics in Prince Edward Island. The information collected varied from parish to parish. In some instances, women's birth names were given; in other parishes, a married woman is listed only as "Mrs.". Relationship to the "head of household" was not included in the majority of parishes.Included in the database were non-REID families where the wife was a REID by birth. Because BIRTH NAME was not given in ALL parishes, it's very likely that many families where the wife was a REID have been omitted from the database.
