Will Collins, est. b.d of 1810 to 1826 d 1848-1850 + Maca - Macha Cunningham b: Abt 1826
My line of Collinses has not been connected to any other of the Melungeon Collins family, but because they fit in so closely with the physical characteristics and have the Indian grandmother 'myth,' and were in the Scott, Lee, Russell Co., Va areas that is now Wise Co., VA, in the midst of other Melungeon families, I feel sure that they belong to this group.
I have searched for 20 years for them and have the following information on them. In the 1850 census of Johnson Co.,KY, Maca Cunningham and her children were living with her parents. Christopher, the youngest child was 10/12 months old.
I would appreciate any information that might connect with this family. My great grandparents were Mary Arminta Musick and James Morgan Hager. Willing to share information on the Cunningham, Musick and Hager lines.
