  JOHN HAMILTON (1861-1931)

This is John, son of James Hamilton and Margaret Williams. He left home at the age of 19 or 20 and was not heard from. He moved to Montana and became an "eccentric recluse", living in a sod house. He began to keep in touch with Anna Hamilton Smock in Idaho. After breaking his leg in 1930 he recuperated at Anna's home. He contacted remaining family in Conneaut Lake and cleared up the 50 year old mystery. He never married.
