Notes:
From interview with Freddie Crump, April 26, 2000: Samuel Harper homesteaded land with son-in-law Albert Jones Smith on the state line between Arkansas and Louisiana. "They used to eat in Arkansas and sleep in Louisiana. They had a house that they claimed was built on the line." About 1859 he moved to near Alexandria, Rapides Parish, Lousiana, he sold his land to Albert Jones Smith for $1250.00. Alfred Jones later sold the land to Freddie Crump's grandfather, F. J. Crump. Freddie Crump and his wife still own the 160 acres of the property.

Samuel Harper probably preached at Chalybaete (pronounced Cleebit) Springs, but no records have been found. Tornado destroyed the church and killed many people (year?). (Need to look for Missionary Baptist Church records)
