SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. -- Mrs. Helen Nichols of Houston, Texas, died Sunday (March 11, 1973) at the Blalock Nursing Home in Houston after a lengthy illness.
Born Sept 30, 1882 at Blufton, Ohio, she was a daughter of Myron and Jennie Rounsaville. In 1902, she married Earl Nichols, who died in 1934. She had been a resident of Shinglehouse from 1902 until 1935.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Marion) Henderson of Olean, N.Y.; two sons, Willard Nichols and Howard Nichols, both of Houston; and four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse today from
7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday (March 14, 1973) from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30
a.m. where funeral and committal services will be held at 2 p.m. The Rev.
Orey Bolt, minister of the Shinglehouse First Baptist Church, will
officiate. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
NICHOLS -- Helen Rounsavell Nichols, 90, widow of Earl Robert Nichols,
formerly of Shinglehouse, Pa., and Queens Valley, N.Y., passed away Sunday.
Survivors: Daughter, Mrs. Marion Henderson of Olean, N.Y.; sons, Willard
R. Nichols, Howard C. Nichols, both of Houston; two grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren. Services Wednesday at the Howard Funeral Home Chapel,
Shinglehouse, Pa., with burial in the Shinglehouse Cemetery. Family suggests
contributions to the Heart Association, American Cancer Fund or a favorite
