Frank A. Nichols, a life-long resident of Sharon township, died at his farm home above town Friday morning.

He was born in Sharon township on July 30, 1854. For thirty years he taught school in Shinglehouse, Ceres, Clara and a few years in Wisconsin. In the early days of Shinglehouse he was one of the owners of the grocery store on the corner of Oswayo and Honeoye streets.

On October 19, 1882, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna MacGregor, who preceeded him in death several years ago. Both Mr. and Mrs. Nichols helped in establishing the Methodist Church in Shinglehouse and were charter members. Mr. Nichols was a past master of the Masonic Lodge, a member of the Coudersport Consistory, and of Sharon Grange of Shinglehouse.

Surviving are three sons, Robert Nichols of El Paso, Texas; Dean Nichols of Rochester and Wayne Nichols at home; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at his late home Monday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. A. J. Bailey of the M. E. Church officiated. Interment was made in Maple Grove cemetery. Services were in charge of the Masonic Lodge and members of the Eastern Star attended in a body.
