It is with sorrow that we record the passing of Earl R. He was given every care that loving hands and medical skill could give but nothing availed.

The subject of this sketch was born in Sharon township on September 24, 1880, and where the greater part of his life has been spent in the peaceful pursuit of farming. In February 1902 he was united in marriage to Miss Helen Y. Rounsville of Hayward, Wis., where they resided until 1906, when they returned to Shinglehouse and have since resided on the farm here.

Earl Nichols was a good citizen and neighbor, a most devoted and loving husband and father and his loss will be keenly felt in the family circle. He was of a kindly nature and always had a good word and a smile for all whom he met. He was a member of Sharon Grange, and a Past Master and took much interest in the work of the lodge.

Besides his widow, he is survived by four children: Mrs. Monroe Burdic of Bolivar, Willard Nichols of New York City, Mrs. Kenneth Henderson of Endicott, N. Y., and Howard Nichols of Port Arthur, Texas. Also two brothers and one sister. A.
