Albert A. Chaffee

Albert A. Chaffee, an old and respected resident of Shinglehouse passed peacefully away at his home Monday night, March 7, 1932. He had been in poor health for a long time and his death resulted from the infirmities of old age.

The subject of this sketch was born on July 11, 1847, and before coming to Shinglehouse about 30 years ago, he resided at Pike, N. Y. During the years he resided in this boro he was engaged in running a planing mill and also worked at carpenter work.

Albert Chaffee was a congenial companion, a kind and true husband and father and one of the best grandfathers that ever lived. He was very well thought of in the community. He was aged 85 years and is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Allie Henderson of this boro, with whom he lived, Mrs. Henry Smith of Duke Center and Mrs. Vinne Stewart of Pike, N. Y., also ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. The grandchildren living in this boro are Kenneth, William, Wayne, Clare, Ned, Lucille, and Guinevere Henderson. He is also survived by one brother, Ezra Chaffee of Saginaw, Mich.

A short prayer will be held at the <Darn, missed the last lines - Mike>
