1.  JOHN¹ GAHRING  (CHRISTIAN^A GOEHRING/GHERING, JOHANNES^B GOEHRING, JOHANN GEORG^C, JOHANN CONRAD^D, JOHANN^E, CONRAD^F)¹ was born 14 April 1836 in Taebingen, Germany¹, and died 18 October 1915¹.  He married (1) ELIZABETH JANE COLBY^1,2 Abt. 1854, daughter of ? COLBY and JANE STRAWBRIDGE.  She was born Abt. 1830³, and died 03 October 1872 in Cherrytree Township, Pennsylvania⁴.  He married (2) SARAH ELLEN WILLIAMS^5,6 24 June 1872, daughter of URIAH WILLIAMS and JANE STRAWBRIDGE. She was born abt. 1836 and was a half-sister of Elizabeth.

2. BENJAMIN FRANCIS² GEHRING (JOHN¹ GAHRING, CHRISTIAN^A GOEHRING/GHERING, JOHANNES^B GOEHRING, JOHANN GEORG^C, JOHANN CONRAD^D, JOHANN^E, CONRAD^F)¹⁶ was born 12 June 1868 in East Troy¹⁷, and died 15 January 1962 in Plaquemine, Louisianna¹⁷.  He married (1) MARY ARMINA BANDLEY¹⁸ 28 March 1892.  She was born 31 January 1865¹⁹, and died 01 March 1936¹⁹.  He married (2) MINNIE RATTENEE FOX¹⁹ October 1944.  She was born Abt. 1870, and died October 1967.

Ben was sometimes referred to as "Frank," taken from his middle name. He chose to spell his name "Gehring," while his father and siblings used "Gahring."  He entered the ministry and missionary field as a Baptist, he was affiliated with the Breedtown or Cherrytree Baptist Church when young.

Ben's ministry was in the South. He ministered in Kentucky as a home missionary. Some of the places he preached were in North Carolina in 1938 and Vinton, Louisiana, in 1942. Ben died Jan. 15, 1962, in Plaquemine, Louisiana at the age of 93.

Harvey W. Jones⁶⁹.  He was born 13 December 1880 in Washington, DC⁶⁹, and died 10 September 1965 in Allentown, PA⁶⁹.

Notes: From Marjorie P. Snelling, March 13, 2004. Dr. Snelling invented Liquid Petroleum gas, "bottled gas." He was also an explosives expert who invented the underwater detonator that was used in building the Panama Canal. They lived in Allentown PA for their entire married lives.
