| The Murchison graveyard. On August 14, 1880 Alex Murchison donated these two acres of his farm "for benefit of the public as a cemetery." This was used as a place of burial before that date and may have evolved from a private family cemetery. The oldest grave on this side with an inscription dates from 1860. Our grave numbering on this side is less orderly because dense brush and briar tangles prevented our locating some gravestones during our initial effort. These were included as we discovered them. The accompanying diagram will indicate grave locations.
