Mrs. Horn was born at the Halley & Love Sanitarium soon after the local Hospital was opened. Her birth was the first caesarian on record in Texas in which the mother and baby both lived. While here Mrs. Horn will visit Drs. Halley & Love at the sanitarium. Both surgeons recall the operation which caused much comment in medical circles at the time. Dr. Love stated Wednesday that he had been in Chicago attending a medical convention and while there had the opportunity to witness such an operation. He did not see it, however, because he thought he could learn other things more practical. After returning to Ballinger it was but a short time before he was called on to perform this marvelous operation. Miss Nora Fletcher was head nurse at the local hospital at that time and Mrs. Horn's first names is for her.
