DeSoto County, Mississippi - 1 November 1862 R H Hayley et al To Deed J F Davis This Indenture made and entered into this the twenty second day of October Eighteen hundred sixty between the heirs of Mary A Hayley, dest. late of DeSoto County and State of Mississippi of the the first part and Jessee F Davis of Marshall County & State of Mississippi of the second part. Witnesseth: That the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the price of Fifteen hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, granted borgained and sold and conveyed with the said party of the second part their heirs and assigns forever a certain lot or parcel of land known and designated as follows (towit). Beginning at the center of section 26 Town & Range 6 west running due north 90 poles thence due west 24 poles thence due south 90 poles and thence due East 24 poles, to the beginning containing (13 1/2) thirteen and one half acres, and all of the southeast quarter section (26) twenty six Township (5) Five Range (6) six West conaining one hundred and sixty acres more or less. To have and hold the aforesaid land with all and singular the rights and apperturances profits and belonging or in anywise pertaining to the only proper use and behoof of the said party. Of the second part his heirs and assigns execution and administration do covenant and agree with the party of the second part their heirs and assigns, That, the aforesaid land and bargained premises they will warrant and forever defend against the right title interest or claim of all and every person whatsover.
