WILL OF HENRY BROCKMAN (1761-1835) I Henry Brockman of Greenville district, being of sound mind and memory but calling to mind the frailty of mortal men, do make and ordain this as my Last Will and testament: 1st. I do give and bequeath to Thomas P. Brocbman In Trust for my daughter Milly Campbell the sum of Three hundred dollars: the interest of which sum is to be paid annually to my daughter and after her death, the principal to be equally divided among the heirs of her body. 2nd. I will and bequeath to the heirs of the body of my deceased daughter Mary Polly Cannon, the sum of Two hundred dollars, to be divided equally among them as they become of age. 3rd. I give and bequeath to the heirs of the body of my deceased daughter Anna Hammett the sum of Two hundred dollars, to be equally divided among them as they become of age. 4th. I give and bequeath to my daughter Frances Paden or her heirs the sum of two hundred dollars. 5th. I give and bequeath to my daughter Lucy Brockaan or her heirs the sum of Two hundred dollars. 6th. I give and bequeath to the creditors of my Son Joel D. Brockman the sum of Two hundred dollars, to be equally divided according to the amount of each debt, without regard to trade or date and no interest to be calculated on any debt moe or after the 1st of January 1825, Each Creditor taking a distributive share shall receive it in full of the debt and receipt the same. As in the event of his creditors failing to take the above sum, Then and in that case I do give and bequeath the said sum to the children of the said Joel D. Brockman, share & share alike, to be paid to them as they become of age also the one eighth part of the part set apart for my beloved wife, after her death. 7th. I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth B. Smith or her heirs the sum of Two hundred dollars. 8th. I give and bequeath to my son Thomas F Brockman or his heirs the sum of two hundred dollars. 9th. It is my will that where any of my children or Grandchildren are now dead or may die before me, leaving legal heirs that such legal heirs shall represent their parent. 10th. It is my Will that all the above legacies be due at the time the sale money of my Estate is made payable. 11th. I do wIll and bequeath to James Brockman his heirs and assigns all my tract of land on the North side of Enoree River about l5O Acres provided he pay to to my Estate the valuation thereof of three disinterested persons. 12th. I do will and bequeath to my son Thomas P. Brockman his heirs and assigns all my tract of land on which I now live on the South Side of Enoree River about 200 Acres, provided he pay to my Estate the valuation thereof of three disinterested persons. 13th. It is my will and desire that my servants George and Rachael be appraised and have the right to choose their Masters at the appraisement. l4th. I do Will and direct that all the rest of my Estate (and that included in the 11th, 12th, and 13th clause if not taken by valuation) be sold to my Executor on such credit as he may think most advisable. l5th. I do give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Susana Brockman the Interest of all the balance of my Estate, after paying all my just debts and the aforesaid Legacies. The interest of which to be paid to her annually for her support and to assist her to raise Milly Cannon (dau. of Mary B. Cannon) so long as the child is permitted to stay with her. 16th. It is my Will that if at any time, the interest given as above to my beloved wife Susana Brockman should be thought by three disinterested persons not to be a sufficient support for her, she may be allowed to use as much of the principal annually as may be thought necessary for her comfortable support. 17th. I do will that after the death of my beloved wife that all part set apart for her, shall be equally divided amongst my Eight children or their heirs, in a similar manner as directed by the foregoing clauses. 18th. I do hereby nominate and appoint my son Thomas P. Brockman Executor of this last will and Testament.
