Georgia Civil War Rosters Co. E, 4th Regiment |
"The 4th Regiment was in Doles-Cook Brigade, Rodes' Division, 2nd Corps. Y. G. Rust was the Captain when this company was organized, on 28 Apr 1861. As a matter of interest, especially to the old-timers of our section, Gen. Cook succeeded Gen. Doles. Gen. Cook owned a farm in Lee County, Ga., and, as I recall it, was elected Congressman while living in Americus, and was Secretary of the State of Georgia for many years."
