William STEADMAN, b. March 23, 1777, Cornwallis NS; d. November 18, 1854 in Moncton. In Moncton on 18 Nov 1803 he married Hannah CROUTCH nee TRITES [Trites for sure, Croutch might be a mistake in the Crandall book] . Hannah was born in 1783 in Moncton NB, d/o Christian TRITES (1759-1836) & Catherine JONES (1763-1851). Frances, b. March 10, 1828, Moncton, New Brunswick; d. July 07, 1911, Moncton, New Brunswick. Frances married Joseph A. CRANDALL, s/o David & Elizabeth nee HOPPER.
James, b. March 27, 1818, "The Bend" Moncton NB; d. May 16, 1913, Fredericton NB; m. (1) Julia Ann L. BECKWITH; m. (2) Emma Jane TURNBULL nee RING.
James was a County Court judge. He had no children
In the 1881 census, James is in Fredericton with his wife Emma who was age 47, born in Nova Scotia.
John, b. 28 September 1804, Moncton, Westmoreland Co., NB, Canada; d. 13 January 1882. In the 1881 census, John is a widower, living in Hopewell NB. His occupation is given as miner. He is living with George H. STEADMAN, a 33 yr old lawyer, and his wife Ada G. (age 29, German origins) & son Harold who is 4 yrs old. (should be 4 months old), as from New Brunswick vital stats:

In the 1901 cenus, George Steadman in still in Hopewell with his wife Ada G. Ada was born 9 Jan 1852 & is a Baptist. George was born 22 Jan 1847 and is an atheist, but still a lawyer. Harold is living in Moncton in a boarding house run by Mary & Maud CUMMINGS on Main Street, incidentally next door to the household of John & Minnie CRANDALL ( I do not know how these Crandalls fit in)
Mary , b. 30 September 1806; d. 14 January 1849; married. Stephen H. SHAW. There was a Stephen H. SHAW in St. John NB, born 1800, in the 1881 census but his wife's name is Elizabeth. I do not know if this the same Stephen with a second wife, or a different Stephen.
William , b. 1 April 1809; d. January 1870
Elizabeth, b. 28 March 1811 in NB; m. James GOLDRUP. James was born in PEI about 1803. In the 1881 census, James is a Baptist clergyman in Coverdale, Albert Co. NB. He is 78 yrs old & Elizabeth is 70. With them in the 1881 census:

- Elmor (male), age 17, born NB
