We're getting quite a few mails on collateral lines of the McCormicks and Milnamows ( Scahill, Keenan, Farrell). It would be helpful for those who are inquiring about information to me personlly, to use the website. Either use the Query Board area, or subscribe to the Milnamow mailing list. If you have any questions about registering to the mailing list---read the help area-- if you're still not sure or are hesitant, please E-mail me and I'll walk you through the process. I know the first time I did this I thought I was going to break something---but hey!!! it worked and I've been hooked every since. By subscribing you gain the benifit of having more people to help put the puzzle together.
ORIGIN OF MILNAMOW SURNAME, 13 June 2000
A preliminary view of the ancestoral name of MILNAMOW presented by
Terry Milnamow of Greensboro, NC USA will be found in the HISTORY area.
We look forward to Terrys' Historical perspective on the MILNAMOW
surname with its many variant spellings. I know that I've found MILMO
as a variation on this name and that they were found in the Townland of
Collooney in County Sligo in the 17th Century.

Hi all,
Please enjoy our new web site. This is a new Genealogy
Research and History site dedicated to my wife Catherine McCormick
Martin and her ancestors from County Longford Ireland.
A considerable amount of time has been expended by myself and a young
man by the name of Michal Pyzalski from Warsaw Poland who is visiting in
this country. Michal is my local html guru, who, if I can keep him away
from Quake design, playing games, also talking with his mom and others
back in Poland (ICQ) can get work done. Thanks Michal.
The mapping area is not complete as yet. but will contain all the
Townlands of County Longford when complete. A project has been started
to collect and put into a database all the people in County Longford
Ireland In 1854/1901 this map and list will give a better idea as to who
left the area and the closeness of those who emigrated from County
Longford throughout the world. I don't anticipate this to be done
anytime soon.
Thanks for the helpful suggestions by all especially to my cousin Dennis
Walsh whose constant energy, creative ideas and dedication, have shown
me the way to making Genealogy design and presentation user friendly and
productive.
It goes with out saying that a gentleman from Ireland, Mr. David Leahy
whose roots are from County Longford, continue to be an inspiring Author
whose books COUNTY LONGFORD SURVIVORS OF THE GREAT FAMINE--& COUNTY
LONGFORD AND ITS PEOPLE, as well as his anticipated book on the Tithe
Applotment Records,continue to give us hope to bridge the gap between
generations who left Ireland in the 19th century.
Lastly however most importantly to my wife Catherine (Cathy) whose
constant love and encouragement have been a driving force to get this
done before our anticipated trip to Ireland in Sept of this year.
