                    He resided at Newport, RI. He was Governor of
                    Rhode Island.
               iii. Richard Carr; b. 5 Jan 1621; d. 17 May 1689 at
                    Salisbury, MA, at age 68.
                    He immigrated in 1635 to Massachusetts; ship
                    'Abigail.'
                iv. Andrew Carr; b. 5 Dec 1622.
                    He immigrated in 1635 to Massachusetts; ship
                    'Abigail.'

3.  Robert Carr (Benjamin2); b. 4 Oct 1614 at London, England; d. 1681
at Newport, RI.
     He immigrated in 1635 to Bristol, RI; ship 'Elizabeth Ann' from
London, England, 9 May 1635. He was a tailor. He was a navigator. He
resided at Newport, RI. He left a will on 20 Apr 1681; proved 4
Oct 1681.
     Known children of Robert Carr include:
                 i. Caleb Carr; b. 23 Aug 1657 at Newport, RI; m.
                    Phillippa Greene, daughter of Dep. Gov. John
                    Greene Jr. and Anne Almy; d. 1690 at Jamestown,
                    RI.
                ii. Elizabeth Carr; b. 1651 at Newport, RI; m. James
                    Brown, son of Chad Brown and Elizabeth Sharparowe,
                    circa 1670; 1st husband; m. Samuel Gardiner; 2nd
                    husband; d. 8 Dec 1697.
               iii. Mary Carr; b. at Newport, RI; m. John Hicks; 1st
                    husband; m. Ralph Earle, son of William Earle and
                    Mary Walker; 2nd husband.
                iv. Robert Carr; m. Elizabeth Lawton, daughter of
                    George Lawton and Elizabeth Hazard; d. circa 1704.
                 v. Esek Carr; b. at Newport, RI; m. Susanna 1684; d.
                    1744 at Little Compton, RI.
                    He was a cooper. He left a will on 16 May 1739;
                    proved 12 Nov 1744.

4.  Margaret Carr (Robert3, Benjamin2, ___1); b. at Newport, RI; m.
Richard Hartshorne, son of William Hartshorne and Alice, 27 Apr 1670.
     She resided at Newport, RI. She resided at Middletown, NJ.
     Richard Hartshorne was born on 24 Oct 1641 at Hathearne,
Leicester, England. He immigrated in Sep 1669 to America; from London,
England. He was a lawyer. He was member of the Provincial Assembly of
NJ between 1682 and 1704. He was Member of Council, 1684, 1695, 1698,
1699 at New Jersey. He was Speaker of the Assembly between 1686 and 16
Oct 1693 at New Jersey. He was Speaker of the Assembly between Feb
1696 and Mar 1698 at New Jersey. He resided before 1703 at Portland,
Monmouth Co., NJ. He resided in 1703 at Middletown, Monmouth Co., NJ.
He died in May 1722 at Middletown, Monmouth Co., NJ, at age 80.
