1.  Evan Thomas; b. 1580; d. 1650.
     He resided at Swansea, Glamorganshire, Wales.

     Known children of Evan Thomas include:

                    Harrison.


                      Generation Two

2.  Philip Thomas (Evan1); b. 1600 at England; m. Sarah Harrison,
daughter of Godfrey Harrison, at England; d. 1675 at Maryland.
     He and Sarah Harrison immigrated in 1651 to Maryland. He resided
at Anne Arundel Co., MD. He was a member of High Commission governing
MD in 1656. He left a will on 6 Sep 1674.

     Sarah Harrison was born at England. She immigrated in 1639 to
Anne Arundel Co., MD. She died in 1687 at Maryland.
     Known children of Philip Thomas and Sarah Harrison were as
follows:
     3.          i. Elizabeth Thomas, b. at Bristol, England; m.
                    William Coale; m. Edward Talbot.
                ii. Philip Thomas; b. at Bristol, England; d. before
                    1688.
                    He immigrated in 1651 to Maryland.
               iii. Sarah Thomas; b. at Bristol, England; m. John
                    Mears, son of Thomas Mears and Elizabeth; d. 1675.
                    She immigrated in 1651 to Maryland.
                iv. Martha Thomas; b. after 1651 at Maryland; m.
                    Richard Arnell 1672; 1st husband; m. Daniel
                    Longman 1684; 2nd husband; d. 1684.
                    She and Richard Arnell had 2 children.
     4.          v. Samuel Thomas, b. circa 1655 at Maryland; m. Mary
                    Hutchins.


                     Generation Three

3.  Elizabeth Thomas (Philip2, Evan1); b. at Bristol, England; m.
William Coale, son of William Cole and Sarah, circa 1670; 1st husband,
3rd wife; m. Edward Talbot, son of Richard Talbot and Elizabeth,
before 1683; 2nd husband; d. circa 1726 at Anne Arundel Co., MD.
     She immigrated in 1651 to Maryland.

     William Coale was born circa 1633 at Virginia. He was a farmer.
He was a Quaker minister. He resided circa 1651 at West River, Anne
Arundel Co., MD. He married Hester before 1655; 1st wife. He married
Hannah; 2nd husband, 2nd wife. He died on 30 Oct 1678 at Anne Arundel
Co., MD.

     Edward Talbot was born in 1658. He died in Jan 1692/93.

4.  Samuel Thomas (Philip2, Evan1); b. circa 1655 at Maryland; m. Mary
Hutchins, daughter of Francis Hutchins and Elizabeth Burrage, 15 May
1688 at Anne Arundel Co., MD; d. before 10 Feb 1743 at Anne Arundel
Co., MD.
     He was a minister of the Society of Friends.

     Mary Hutchins resided at Calvert Co., MD. She died in Jul 1751.
     Known children of Samuel Thomas and Mary Hutchins were as
follows:
                 i. Sarah Thomas; b. 31 Mar 1689; m. Joseph
                    Richardson, son of William Richardson and Eliza,
                    25 Oct 1705; d. 1724.

     5.         iv. Philip Thomas, b. 1 Mar 1694; m. Frances Holland;

     6.          v. John Thomas, b. 15 Apr 1697; m. Elizabeth Snowden.
                vi. Ann Thomas; m. Edward Fell 1730; d. before 1743.
     7.        vii. Elizabeth Thomas, b. 29 Dec 1698; m. Richard
                    Snowden.
              viii. Mary Thomas; b. 6 Nov 1700; m. John Galloway, son
                    of Samuel Galloway and Anne Webb, 31 Jul 1718; 2nd
                    wife, 1st husband.
     8.         ix. Samuel Thomas, b. 12 Nov 1702 at Maryland; m. Mary
                    Snowden.
                 x. Margaret Thomas; b. 1710; m. William Harris; d.
                    1766.


                     Generation Four

5.  Philip Thomas (Samuel3, Philip2, Evan1); b. 1 Mar 1694; m. Frances
Holland Mar 1721; 1st wife; m. Ann Chew, daughter of Samuel Chew and
Mary, 11 Aug 1724; 2nd wife; d. Jan 1772 at age 77.

     Ann Chew died in Jul 1777.
     Known children of Philip Thomas and Ann Chew include:
     9.          i. Elizabeth Thomas, m. Samuel Snowden.
                ii. Samuel Thomas; b. "6-12-1725" at Maryland; m. Mary
                    Thomas, daughter of Samuel Thomas and Mary
                    Snowden, 23 Oct 1750; d. 17 Jul 1784 at Maryland.
                    He resided at Perry Point, MD.
    10.        iii. John Thomas, b. 26 Aug 1743; m. Sarah Murray.

6.  John Thomas (Samuel3, Philip2, Evan1); b. 15 Apr 1697; m.
Elizabeth Snowden, daughter of Richard Snowden and Eliza Jane Coale,
Apr 1727; d. Feb 1749/50 at age 52.

     Known children of John Thomas and Elizabeth Snowden include:
                 i. John Thomas; b. 1734; m. Margaret Hopkins,
                    daughter of Gerard Hopkins and Mary Hall; d. 15
                    Feb 1826.

7.  Elizabeth Thomas (Samuel3, Philip2, Evan1); b. 29 Dec 1698; m.
Richard Snowden, son of Capt. Richard Snowden III and Mary Linthicum,
10mo 19 1717; 2nd wife; d. 1775.
     She left a will; proved 9 Aug 1775.

     Richard Snowden was born in circa 1689. He resided at 'Birmingham
Manor', Prince George's Co., MD. He married Eliza Jane Coale, daughter
of William Coale and Elizabeth Sparrow, 3mo 19 1709; 1st wife. He died
either on 26 Jan 1763 or in 1775.

8.  Samuel Thomas (Samuel3, Philip2, Evan1); b. 12 Nov 1702 at
Maryland; m. Mary Snowden, daughter of Richard Snowden and Eliza Jane
Coale, 11 Aug 1730; d. 3 Feb 1780 at Maryland at age 77.
     He was a Quaker minister.

     Mary Snowden was born circa 1712 at Maryland. She died on 15 Aug
1755 at Maryland.
     Known children of Samuel Thomas and Mary Snowden were as follows:
                 i. Mary Thomas; b. 3 Nov 1731; m. Samuel Thomas, son
                    of Philip Thomas and Ann Chew, 23 Oct 1750; d. 4
                    Mar 1770 at age 38.
                ii. Samuel Thomas; b. 23 Sep 1733.
               iii. Philip Thomas; b. 18 Apr 1735; d. Nov 1754 at age
                    19.
                iv. Elizabeth Thomas; b. 10 Mar 1736/37; m. Johns
                    Hopkins, son of Gerard Hopkins and Margaret Johns,
                    16 Feb 1758; 3rd wife.
    11.          v. Evan Thomas, b. 21 Jan 1738/39 at Maryland; m.
                    Rachel Hopkins.


                     Generation Five

9.  Elizabeth Thomas (Philip4, Samuel3, Philip2, Evan1); m. Samuel
Snowden, son of Richard Snowden and Elizabeth Thomas; d. 30 Jan 1790.

     Samuel Snowden was born "11-2-1728" at Maryland. He died on 27
Jun 1801 at Maryland.
     Known children of Elizabeth Thomas and Samuel Snowden include:
                 i. Ann Snowden; m. Richard Hopkins, son of Gerard
                    Hopkins and Mary Hall, 23 Dec 1774; d. 16 Mar
                    1818.
                ii. Sarah Snowden; m. Dr. Elisha Hopkins, son of
                    Gerard Hopkins and Mary Hall; 2nd wife.

10.  John Thomas (Philip4, Samuel3, Philip2, Evan1); b. 26 Aug 1743;
m. Sarah Murray, daughter of Dr. William Murray and Ann Smith, 23 Aug
1777; d. 3 Feb 1805 at age 61.
     He resided at West River, Anne Arundel Co., MD. He was President
of the Senate of Maryland.

     Sarah Murray was born on 12 Nov 1747. She died in Sep 1824 at age
76.
     Known children of John Thomas and Sarah Murray include:
                 i. John Thomas; b. 27 Apr 1788; m. Elizabeth Murray,
                    daughter of Commodore Alexander Murray and Mary
                    Miller, 31 Dec 1817; d. 27 Dec 1858 at age 70.
                    He and Elizabeth Murray resided at 'Lebanaon',
                    West River, Anne Arundel Co., MD.

11.  Evan Thomas (Samuel4, Samuel3, Philip2, Evan1); b. "1-31-1738" or
21 Jan 1738/39 at Maryland; m. Rachel Hopkins, daughter of Gerard
Hopkins and Mary Hall, 26 Dec 1766 at Indian Spring Meeting; d. 10 Nov
1826 at Maryland at age 87.
     He resided at Montgomery Co., MD. He resided at Frederick Co.,
MD.

     Rachel Hopkins was born on 30 Dec 1742. She died on 3 Dec 1825 at
age 82.
     Known children of Evan Thomas and Rachel Hopkins were as follows:
                 i. Mary Thomas; b. 14 Oct 1768; m. Elias Ellicott,
                    son of Andrew Ellicott and Elizabeth Brown.
    12.         ii. Ann Thomas, b. 6 Aug 1771; m. Thomas Poultney.
               iii. Philip Thomas; b. 12 Jan 1774; d. 1775.
                iv. Samuel Thomas; b. 12 Jan 1774; d. 1775.
                 v. Philip Evan Thomas; b. 11 Nov 1776 at 'Mt Radnor',
                    Montgomery Co., MD; m. Eliza George, daughter of
                    Robert George and Ann; d. 1 Sep 1861 at West
                    Chester Co., NY, at age 84.
                vi. Elizabeth Thomas; b. 26 Mar 1779; m. Isaac Tyson,
                    son of Elisha Tyson and Mary Amos, 8 Nov 1797 at
                    Sandy Springs Meeting, Montgomery Co., MD; d. 12
                    May 1812 at age 33.
               vii. Evan Thomas Jr; b. 8 Mar 1781.
              viii. Margaret Thomas; b. 26 Sep 1783; d. 5 Oct 1783.


                      Generation Six

12.  Ann Thomas (Evan5, Samuel4, Samuel3, Philip2, Evan1); b. 6 Aug
1771; m. Thomas Poultney, son of Thomas Poultney and Elizabeth Smith,
21 Apr 1790; d. 4 Feb 1858 at age 86.

     Thomas Poultney was born 9mo 29 1762, recorded Sadsbury Meeting,
Lancaster Co., PA. He resided at 'Mt. Airy', Towson, MD.
