2.  William Armistead (Anthony1); baptized 3 Aug 1610 at All Saint's
Church, Kirk Deighton, England; m. Anne Ellis 1632 at Giggleswick,
Yorkshire, England; d. before 1660.
     He immigrated circa 1635 to Elizabeth City Co., VA.

     Anne Ellis was born circa 1615.
     Known children of William Armistead and Anne Ellis were as

     4.         ii. Maj. Anthony Armistead, b. 1645; m. Hannah
                    Ellyson.

                    husband; m. Lt. Col. Anthony Elliott; 2nd husband;
                    m. Col. Christopher Wormeley; 3rd husband; d. 25
                    May 1685.

3.  Col. John Armistead (William2, Anthony1); m. Judith; d. 1703.
     He resided at 'Hesse', Gloucester Co., VA. He was High Sheriff
in 1675 at Gloucester Co., VA. He was a member of the House of
Burgesses in 1685 at Gloucester Co., VA. He was a member of Council in
1688 at Virginia.

     Judith was born circa 1643.
     Known children of Col. John Armistead and Judith were as follows:
     5.          i. Judith Armistead, b. 1665; m. Robert Carter.
     6.         ii. Col. Henry Armistead, m. Martha Burwell.
     7.        iii. Elizabeth Armistead, b. 16 Feb 1667; m. Col. Ralph
                    Wormeley; m. Col. William Churchill.
     8.         iv. William Armistead, b. 1671; m. Anna Lee.

4.  Maj. Anthony Armistead (William2, Anthony1); b. 1645; m. Hannah
Ellyson, daughter of Dr. Robert Ellyson; d. before 26 Oct 1726.
     He resided at Elizabeth City, VA. He was a member of the House of
Burgesses between 1693 and 1699 at Virginia.

     Hannah Ellyson was born circa 1654/55 at Virginia. She left a
will; proved 19 Dec 1728. She died between 26 Oct 1726 and 19 Oct
1728 at Elizabeth City Co., VA.

                          Generation Four

5.  Judith Armistead (John3, William2, Anthony1); b. 1665; m. Robert
Carter, son of Col. John Carter and Sarah Ludlow, circa 1688; 1st
wife; d. 23 Feb 1699.

     Robert 'King' Carter was born circa 1663. He resided at
'Corotoman', Lancaster Co., VA. He was Acting Governor at Virginia. He
was Speaker of the House of Burgesses at Virginia. He was a member of
the Governor's Council at Virginia. He married Elizabeth Landon,
daughter of Thomas Landon and Mary, in 1701; 2nd wife, 2nd husband. He
died in 1732.

6.  Col. Henry Armistead (John3, William2, Anthony1); m. Martha Burwell,
daughter of Hon. Lewis Burwell and Abigail Smith, circa 1701; d. after
13 Jun 1746.
     He resided at Gloucester Co., VA. He resided at 'Hesse',
Middlesex Co., VA. He was a member of the House of Burgesses between
1728 and 1734 at Virginia.

     Martha Burwell was baptized on 16 Nov 1685. She died after Dec
1710.
     Known children of Col. Henry Armistead and Martha Burwell
include:
                 i. Lucy Armistead; m. Thomas Nelson, son of Thomas
                    Nelson and Margaret Reade.

7.  Elizabeth Armistead (John3, William2, Anthony1); b. 16 Feb 1667;
m. Col. Ralph Wormeley, son of Ralph Wormeley and Agatha Eltonhead, 16
Feb 1687; 1st husband; m. Col. William Churchill 2 Oct 1703; 2nd
husband; d. 16 Nov 1716 at age 49.

     Col. Ralph Wormeley was born in 1650. He resided at 'Rosegill',
Middlesex Co., VA. He was Secretary of the Colony at Virginia. He left
a will on 2 Feb 1700.

     Col. William Churchill resided at Middlesex Co., VA.

8.  William Armistead (John3, William2, Anthony1); b. 1671; m. Anna
Lee, daughter of Hancock Lee and Mary Kendall; d. 13 Jun 1711.
     He resided at Eastmost River, Mathews Co., VA. He resided at
Gloucester Co., VA.

     Anna Lee resided at Northampton Co., VA.
     Known children of William Armistead and Anna Lee include:
                 i. Mary Armistead; b. 1696; m. James Burwell, son of
                    Hon. Lewis Burwell and Abigail Smith; 1st husband;
                    m. Philip Lightfoot, son of Hon. Philip Lightfoot
                    and Alice Corbin; 2nd husband; d. Jun 1775.

9.  Robert Armistead (Anthony3, William2, Anthony1); m. ___ Booth; 1st
wife.
     He resided at York Co., VA.

     Known children of Robert Armistead and ___ Booth include:
