The census taker indicated that William was born in Germany.

Isabella age 18, not yet married one year, John Tandy age 32, he was born in Indian Territory, father Irish, mother from Indian Territory (Oklahoma). John Tandy was a farm laborer working out.

Obituary, Boone Co. Democrat, April 26, 1917:
PASSING OF BOONE COUNTY PIONEER--W. S. Manion, one of the pioneers of Boone County, died at his home in Harrison township on Thursday morning, April 19, 1917. Deceased had only been sick a few days and his demise came as a surprise to his friends and relatives. The funeral was held at St. Peter & Paul's Catholic church on Saturday, April 21st at 10 o'clock. Rev. Father Renier had charge of the services. Mr. Manion was about 80 years of age at the time of his death. He was born in Canada and moved with his parents to Boone county about 50 years ago. In 1888 he was married to Mrs. Isabel Tasty, and to this union two daughters were born; Mrs. J. Tonty [Tandy] of Story City, Ia. and Miss Maggie Manion, who resides at home. Besides these he leaves his wife, two step sons, three grandchildren [Tandy?], two sisters, and one brother to mourn his demise. His many friends sympathise with these in the loss of a kind and loving father.

RECENT DEATHS (from unknown newspaper clipping)
Mrs John Tandy, daughter of Mr and Mrs W S Manion, was born December 1, 1891 in Boone County, about eight miles west of Story City. She attended school in Mackey and grew to womanhood at this place. After a short friendship with John Tandy they were united in marriage December 29, 1909. Mrs Tandy died Feb 18, 1924 at the Story City Hospital at 12:30 PM. She had taken sick with pneumonia and pleurisy a week ago Wednesday. After five days of illness she died. She leaves to mourn, her husband John Tandy, five children, namely, Lillian, Ronald, Geneva, Lloyd and Otto; a mother, Mrs W S Manion; one sister Maggie Manion; two half brothers Morgan and Clyde Tasty and other relatives.
The funeral services were held February 20, 1924, at Grace Evangelical church at 2 o�clock, Rev Orth officiating. Internment was made at the Fairview cemetery. The pall bearers were: H T Hauge, Martin Jensen, Chas Sheffield, Gust Ness, C J
Risvedt and Bert Hill.
