TREGAMINION - chapel of Ease (Menabilly)

Situated on the edge of the Menbilly estate and shaded by high austere trees Tregaminion Chapel is in the middle of its greatest renovation since completion in 1815 Almost two centuries of weathering have taken their toll and the chapel needed a new roof Over ten Nears of fund raising came to fruition in 1993 when this task was completed.

Phase II repairs will be made to the window frames. interior decorating and porch roof w hen finances allow.

William Rashleigh was this private chapel's benefactor. his family coat of arms being incorporated above the porch.

The chapel was completed as a memorial to Rachel his wife. and consecrated in 18 l 6 by Bishop Pelham of Exeter.

Tw o mediev al stone crosses brought from the Milltow n area. one formally used Is a bridge. arc to be found alongside the church.
