It
consists of chuck steak or skirt, potato, swede and onion (if
liked) wrapped in a circle of pastry and crimped at the
top.
What
is the Cornish Tartan? There are
two, the Cornish National Tartan (yellow/gold background) and
the Cornish Hunting Tartan (green background). Kilts are worn
by men and women alike, particularly at special occasions such
as weddings, St Piran's Day, rugby finals and gatherings (and
in my case, job interviews!!!) There is also a St Piran Tartan
(black and red on white) and a Curnow tartan (purple) for the
Curnow family. There are probably others, of which I would be
glad to hear.
More about Cornwall: Cornwall's population is about
491,100. Cornwall's land mass is 3,564 km sq (1,376 mi sq).
Bodmin is the county seat and Truro is the
administrative centre. Most of Cornwall consists of rugged
moorland that gradually declines in elevation to the heavily
indented coastline. The SCILLY ISLANDS, located just
offshore, are part of Cornwall. Some of Cornwall's
agriculture is; dairy, cattle, sheep, fruits and vegetables.
Clay mining is still important to parts of Cornwall.
Tin mining is now no longer in operation but groups are
committed to the preservation of mine sites and their
associated buildings. The port towns of Falmouth,
Fowey, and Penzance are industrial centres. Tourism is
important, and much of the scenic coast is protected from
commercial development.
