James Pyles talked with Alice Wheeler Ellis when a young lad. She remembered her grandfather Levi Wheeler. He lived in a small log house, and was described by her as a person with good taste who took pride in his home. He told her that Joseph Desha, one time governor of Kentucky, was a first cousin of his. Joseph Desha was born 9 Dec 1768 s/o of Eleanor Wheeler and Robert Desha.
