Nagle: Samuel Goodan living on the Preston Pike near town, died of old age Sunday and was buried in Owingsville cemetery Monday. He was born in Carter County, Mar 6, 1814. When ayoung man came to Bath County and married Susan Wells, sister of Robert, Alf, and Coot Wells, in 1837. Left his wife and following children: Joseph, living at home; Margaret (Mrs. John Oakley,now deceased); Cynthia (Mrs. James Williams of Flat Creek); Mary, at home; Daniel of Stoops, KY; John ("Tig" of Buffalo, IL); Paul (deceased); and Peter, at home. One child died in infancy. His wife survived at age 83.
