Samuel Wheeler was associated with the Reformed Dutch Church. Samuel was shown in "Pennsylvania in 1780" as living in CPHIL-CW Township. Sometime after that he moved to Mason CO KY, as he iss hown there in 1806 where he signed a note of consent for his son JOSEPH WHEELER to marry NANCY PARKER 23 Oct 1806, Mason CO KY.

"The History of my Mother's People", a handwritten book belonging to Juanita Belle Robinson, a gr-gr-granddaughter of Joseph and Mary Holmes Wheeler, compiled from information provided to her by the son of EFFIE DRAKE WHEELR, youngest dau of Samuel and Elizabeth Drake Wheeler: "SAMUEL WHEELER, the father of the above 10 children died 12 miles from Nathan's Ferry, Clermont County, OH Une 1818, age 61yr/5mo. Elizabeth Wheeler his wife, died in Huron CO OH, Dec 12, 1847, age 83yrs/7mo at the home of the daughter Effie Drake (Wheeler) McMillan and is buried in Clarksfield, Huron CO OH".

Before the third child of Samuel Wheeler and his wife Elizabeth was born (about 1788), Samuel Wheeler and some neighbors were up in the highlands making maple sugar. His wife had been washing that day and she saw about dinner time a heavy storm coming up, and when it began to rain she took her two children, one under each arm and went across the creek on a foot bridge to the high ground to the house of her mother-in-law, MRS. MARY ALICE (HOLMES) WHEELER, from there she could see the flood come washing down the valley acoompanied by a regular tornado, it blew the house and barn down and the water was so high it washed away everything including the stock, horses, cattle, hogs and everything they had. Among other things in the house was 300 pounds sterling gold equal to $1500.00 that she had from her father's estate, all was swept away. After a few days when the flood had passsed and the men had returned they found about three miles down the creek, lodged in the forks of a tree about 30 feet above low water her wedding bonnet and in it were six silver teaspoons and six silver tablespoons which has been her wedding present from her parents.

Samuel Wheeler and his wife Elizabeth in the fall of 1800 moved from PA to OH and stayed there about two years when they again moved to Mason CO KY and not being staisfield with KY as a place of residnec returend again to OH about 1805 and settled in Bloom Township, Fairfield, CO OH on the same farm they had lived on before they went to KY and there remained some years.

Nicholas Co., KY Deeds, Book K, p 307 - 26 Sep 1834 show a Samuel Wheeler and wife Hannah selling land.
