died she had slaves: Nelly, about 30 years old; Milley and boy child,
young; Ester, 80 years old ("Worst than nothing"); Boy Aaron 11/12 years

later sold to Baruch's son THOMAS and then in 1859 to his son THOMAS.
Baruch moved from MD to KY bef Dec 1810. He settled on Jack's Creek
Pike about 14 miles from Lexington. Baruch's brother, Walter, married
ANN HIGGINS, sister of SARAH HIGGINS PRATHER. Walter's plantation house
and estate is now in the hands of Fayette Co. & is being restored and
the estate is a nature preserve. (Info from Gary Benton Prather, Frisco,
TX and Diane Battershell, Pratt, KS)
This researcher, Mary Ann Kaylor, visited Raven Run Nature Sanctuary in
the Fall of 1997 and visited the "Old Home Place" and Cemetery. It is
still in remarkable condition and has been lived in in recent years. The
cemetery still has many stones, although most of them are broken and illegible. Baruch
Prather's original tombstone is partially broken, but DAR has installed
a Military Marker. Sarah's stone is next to Baruch's.

Tombstone in Jacksonville East Cemetery, Morgan Co. IL, but he was
buried in a now abandoned cemetery within the city of Jacksonville.
Elizabeth Hubert had a tombstone made for the Reid family
in the 1980's, inscribing all the Reid Family members on the stone.
Data from Elizabeth Hubert - 1984: Londonderry - Derry, NH is distinctly
a Scottish settlement, mostly Scotch-Irish, predominantly Presbyterian.
Was settled in 1719. The original proprietors ROBERT WEIR, WM. HUMPHREY
and the REID family came shortly after. Referenced by Leonard Morrison
Information from Elizabeth Hubert who researched the Consitution in
Washington DC, 11th floor of the U. S. Coast Guard.
Stephen Holland Reid served on the Frigate "Constitution", this was
during the Barbary War with Tripoli, for two years. Constitution,
often called Old Ironsides, 44 gun frigate, one of the most famous
vessels in the history of the US Navy. The Constitution was commisssioned
& put to sea in 1798 for service against French privateers and was used
in the War of 1812, the frigate, under the command of Isaac Hull, fought
in Aug 1812, with the Gueriere, a British warship, leaving it a total
wreck after an engagement of 30 minutes. In Dec. of that year, under
the comand of Capt Wm. Bainbridge, the Constitution captured the
British frigate Java off Bahia, Brazil. On Feb 10, 1815, it captured
the Cayne and the Levant, 2 British ships, after an engagement between
the Madeira Islands and Gibraltar. Soon afterward the british squadron
recaptured the Levant. Reported unseaworthy about 1829, the constitution
was ordered dismantled, but the order was rescinded & the ship retained in
deference to the sentiment aroused in the poem "Old Ironsides' by the
American poet Oliver Wendell Holmes; In 1833 the ship was rebuilt,
and in 1855 it was used as a training ship. In 1877 the Constitution
was again rebuilt and the following year it made a final voyage across
the Atlantic Ocean. From 1927 to 1930 the ship was once more rebuilt,
with funds procured by popular subscription & Congressional appropriation.
The frigate is now on exhibition at the Boston Navy Yard. - Taken from
Funk & Wagnalls New Encyclopedia 1972 by Diane Battershell.
