OTHER INFORMATION
Columbiana County takes its name from a combination of the names (Christopher) Columbus and (Queen) Anna. The county borders the state of Pennsylvania about 20 miles south of Youngstown. It is a productive area with mineral resources including, coal, clay and limestone.
Lisbon, the second oldest town in Ohio, is the county seat of Columbiana. The Ohio, Patriot, one of the first newspapers established in the state was published here.
Principle industries include; machinery, stone-clay-glass, metals, printing and publishing, furniture, clay tile, pottery and metal household furniture. Dairy products are the agricultural industry.
Clerk of Courts has divorce records & civil court records.
I am a retired Genealogist and Record searcher. I was born and raised in
Columbiana County. If you need any volunteering, I have all the cemetery listings, All the census, marriages, deaths, family histories over 20 of mine) plus County Histories, etc. I'd be glad to help in any way I can. I now live in Oklahoma and so I brought my Library with me. NOTE: I can't do random searches. Only ones that have specific names and locales.
