MEMBERSHIP in Lorain County Chapter includes a subscription to the Lorain County Researcher. This quarterly newsletter contains queries, genealogical articles pertaining to Lorain County, news of affiliate organizations and publications for sale.

FIRST FAMILIES OF LORAIN COUNTY: Members are eligible for membership in First Families of Lorain County provided the member proves that one or more direct ancestors lived in Lorain County by 1850. Inductees receive a certificate and enameled pin at the annual First Families Dinner held each November.

MONTHLY MEETINGS are generally held the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm in the meeting room of the Oberlin Public Library, 65 S Main St, Oberlin OH. Exceptions such as field trips, picnics and other activities are announced in the newsletter.

AFFILIATE ORGANIZATIONS include the Black River Genealogists who meet at the Lorain Public Library, 351 6th St, Lorain OH 44052. The Wellington Genealogical Group, PO Box 265, Wellington OH, 44090, meet in the Town Hall at Wellington.

APPLICATION for membership: Dues are $10.00 for the calendar year (Jan-Dec) per household. Make checks payable to LCC-OGS and mail with a business-size SASE envelope to:
