Brief History of Conneaut

July 4, 1796, Moses Cleaveland And His Party of Surveyors First Landed As They Began Their Development Work In The Newly Established Western Reserve. He And His Men Erected A Log Cabin Near The Point At Which They Landed and Called it Port Independence, Now Conneaut.
