Akron-Summit County Public Library

The genealogy microfilm collection is stored in cabinets in the Language, Literature and History Division, near the microfilm readers. The collection consists of the following microfilmed materials.

  1. CENSUS MICROFILM

    • The library owns ALL of the census microfilm for the State of Ohio (1820-1920), including the 1900 Soundex Index, the 1910 Miracode Index, and the 1920 Soundex Index for Ohio.
    • The library also owns a large number of random rolls of census microfilm from various states that have been donated by patrons over the years. The holdings are listed by years and then by states in the small card catalog across from the microfilm cabinets.
