Macduff

MACDUFF, Thane of Fife, a nobleman of Scotland - Macduff shows early on a distrust of Macbeth. He also represents fate as when knocking on the door. He thinks he can avoid having his family looking guilty and getting killed by fleeing, but he overestimates Macbeth. Macduff then plays the avenger.

He is the kings right hand man. He is very close to the king and begins to figure out that Macbeth killed the king. He leaves all of his possessions behind and flees to be with Malcolm and Donalbain. He then learns that his entire family has been killed by Macbeth. This creates great anger in him and forces him to feel a need for revenge. He is also a driving force that helps to overthrow Macbeth.
