The USGenWeb Project - Consisting of a group of volunteers working together to provide Internet websites for genealogical research in every county and every state of the United States, the Project is non-commercial and fully committed to free access for everyone.

The USGenWeb Census Project - The USGenWeb Census Project was started in February 1997 with the mission of transcribing all of the US Federal Censuses, and putting them in the USGenWeb Archives. It's an ambitious project and we invite you to join us!

The USGenWeb Tombstone Transcription Project - This is a fantastic site!

The USGenWeb Archives Project - The USGenWeb Digital Library (Archives) was developed to present actual transcriptions of public domain records on the Internet. This huge undertaking is the cooperative effort of volunteers who either have electronically formatted files on census records, marriage bonds, wills, and other public documents, or are willing to transcribe this information to contribute.

USGS - Geographic Names Information System [GNIS] (This is a great sight to find places. It is the US Government mapping service. Just type in the name of what you need and it will look it up for you and then show you a map. It's great! - The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS), developed by the USGS in cooperation with the U.S. Board on Geographic Names (BGN), contains information about almost 2 million physical and cultural geographic features in the United States. The Federally recognized name of each feature described in the data base is identified, and references are made to a feature's location by State, county, and geographic coordinates. The GNIS is our Nation's official repository of domestic geographic names information. Information about foreign geographic feature names can be obtained from the GEOnet Names Server, developed and maintained by the National Imagery and Mapping Agency.)
