FERNANDES
Hello - I have been researching my family for some time and it appears that my father's side of the family might come from Madeira. My father's family is originally from Jacksonville, IL, however, my grandfather moved to the south suburbs of Chicago. I am trying to find the names of the people that came from Madeira or Portugal.The earliest name I have is John F. FERNANDES. He was born in Illinois, probably Jacksonville, around 1868, and died in 1902. I have been told by relatives that John was hit by a train in a horse and carriage. He is buried at the Jacksonville East Cemetery with his son Percy E. FERNANDES, who is my great-grandfather.
Can anyone please provide information on John and his ancestors? Anything would be greatly appreciated. If you need any more information you can e-mail me at [email protected]. I can provide quite a bit of info on his descendants.
