RUFINO, FERNANDEZ, PIRES, VILLANUEVA

..I'm researching..
- in Trinidad: VILLANUEVA, RUFINO, PIRES, FERNANDEZ.
- in Venezuela: VILLANUEVA.

______TRINIDAD______
Pablo VILLANUEVA,1851-1929,(of Spanish extract) fled revolution in Venezuela, headed for Trinidad and, with the help of a female unknown, had a son Norman Alexander VILLANUEVA,1873-1952 probably born in Trinidad.

Norm.Alex.V. married Olivia FERNANDEZ (of Portuguese/Madeira extract). This couple had five kids, among them my wife's father, Lance Elton VILLANUEVA,1907-1926.

Olivia FERNANDEZ' parents were:
John FERNANDEZ,c.1845- (of Madeiran extract,it's thought) married to Gertrude RUFINO, c.1855-1940.
This couple had Olivia, three other girls, and a boy. The boy was Ernest FERNANDEZ, who emigrated to the USA.

going sideways for awhile,now..
Gertrude RUFINO(also thought to be of Madeira extract) had a bro. named John.

John RUFINO,1859-1918, married Eliza PIRES,c.1866-1941 and had eight children (four boys, four girls) of which some details are known.

I suspect the RUFINO and FERNANDEZ people arrived in Trinidad in their teens/early twenties, circa 1875.

'Ring a bell' with anyone?
