The Long Cane Massacre Stone Marker


 

This marker was commissioned by Pat Calhoun, in memory of his mother, Catherine, and twenty-two others who perished in the Long Cane Massacre, February 1, 1760. It is believed that the stone was carved by Andrew McComb.
