Today about 25,000 persons with the
surname MATTHEUS or variant do live in Belgium.
About 4,900 of them use the surname MATTHYS,
and about 1800 MATTHIJS.
But the main variant for MATTHEUS is in fact THYS with about 7,100.
You will find on this site mainly data about this surname in the Low Countries,
but also elsewhere in Europe and America.
